Her
name is Dimi, short for Dimitrina. She was my age, slim, with blond
hair and blue eyes. She worked in a veterinary clinic. We didn't know
each other until we met in a small village on the Black Sea 20 years
ago. We were surprised to know that we lived in the same town, the
same district, and at a short distance. We were neighbors but we met
far away from home.
I was
glad to find a good companion for the summer holiday. She was
agreeable and somewhat childish. With her I had that strange feeling
that you have known her for years. We could spend our time talking
about anything or in silence, any way we felt comfortable. She was
personally charming, intelligent and very helpful. We kept our
friendship after the holiday. We got on really well and spent a good
time. Something more, Dimi became my best friend.
However
when I took this photo eleven years ago, I didn't know that it would
be our last summer together. Nobody could expect something so cruel.
We lost her due to a malignant disease. Nothing could be done...
Today
I dedicate my composition to my unique friend Dimi. She was a really
good friend and I'm thankful to have met her.
