A good friend: Dimi (by Lilyana)

Her name is Dimi, short for Dimitrina. She was my age, slim, with blond hair and blue eyes. She worked in a veterinary clinic. We didn't know each other until we met in a small village on the Black Sea 20 years ago. We were surprised to know that we lived in the same town, the same district, and at a short distance. We were neighbors but we met far away from home.

I was glad to find a good companion for the summer holiday. She was agreeable and somewhat childish. With her I had that strange feeling that you have known her for years. We could spend our time talking about anything or in silence, any way we felt comfortable. She was personally charming, intelligent and very helpful. We kept our friendship after the holiday. We got on really well and spent a good time. Something more, Dimi became my best friend.

However when I took this photo eleven years ago, I didn't know that it would be our last summer together. Nobody could expect something so cruel. We lost her due to a malignant disease. Nothing could be done...

Today I dedicate my composition to my unique friend Dimi. She was a really good friend and I'm thankful to have met her.

My best friend Álvaro (by Paola)

Álvaro and I were going to the same school and we knew each other by sight since the primary school, but when we really became good friends was during the high school and specially in Bachillerato.

At first, he was shameful and quiet. With some luck we talked about class stuff . Then, one day he asked me about some mangas for read. I recommended him one and we started to talk about that. Little by little we continued sharing interests and knowing more each other. At that time, I realized he was a really smart and honest boy but for him it was difficult to share his emotions, feelings or thinking because of the shy side and because we didn’t have a lot of confident.

Finally, the situation changed radically: we started to extend our plans, to go out to take coffee, going to the cinema, making long walks and infinite talks, taking us crazy pictures…
He wasn’t the only one who opened himself to another person by first time. I also did and it was awesome. We could argue and the next day we could cry with laughter. I discovered he was kind and attentive and also that he had a crazy and psychopath side I took it out.

You can talk with him about anything you want but you may have to make an appointment because he’s usually very busy with his degree, his games, reading his books or watching his TV series.

Nowadays, we maintain this respect and confident for each other. He’s like a brother for me.

A good friend: Marcos (by Carlos Montero)

I am going to introduce you Marcos one of the best friends I have. I met him 8 years ago during the summer, when I was visiting my uncle's flat that was being furnished. He is 9 years older than me, but that does not matters.
He is very loyal and optimistic, although we do not share lots of things, we have an incredible relationship. I have seen him almost ever summer since we had met, it seems a few time, but it is not, because he lives in Granada, far away from here.
When he comes here we go to my camping to spend our summer time, place which we really enjoy because there are perfect beaches.
Now a days he is studying an engineering degree, so he does not have as much time as he did before to write emails to me, but at the same time new social networks have let us to speak more often.
Finally I have to say that I would like that this friendship would lasts forever.

Mi new friend Eli (by Nuria)

I choose for present us my new friend Eli. I met her the last summer at work. She is a very funny girl because is a very genuine person, she don’t has filters to express what she thinks, sometimes she has problems with other people for this reason, but I prefer a sincere people that not have problems to say anything. She is also very loyal and she has a heart of gold, always is willing for help to those in need.

She is an advocate of the unjust and she has a great fighting spirit. I wouldn’t want her as an enemy.
When we work together we laughed a lot, we both really like jokes.
I admire her for her good feelings. At the moment the only thing of her character that I don’t like is that she is a rather abrupt.
Recently I know her, but I hope know more things of her and her live and I sure in the near future she will be an important person in my life.

Good friends: Mireia and Júlia (by Amanda)

They are Mireia and Júlia. I met them this last summer in a theatre camp, where we stayed for a week, without mobiles, TV or any type of new technology. We were just there, in the middle of the mountain, enjoying with different activities and learning how to act, that’s what we really love. In this camp, we met lots of lovely people and we made a group of 9. The first time we talk, we get on really well and we discovered that we have more things in common than we thought, for example our passion for music. We spent the all week doing things together like acting, dancing, going to the swimingpool, climbing, eating, sleeping, we were inseparables! Although, we live in different cities and we can’t meet as much as we want but we try to keep in contact, and these days is very easy because everybody has Whatsapp! The disadvantage of being a group of 9 it’s that it’s too difficult to get in line and decide a day to meet, because always there’s someone that can’t come. After three months without see them, I finally met Mireia and Júlia, I really missed them because they’re very optimistic and open-minded and as you can see in the picture we always have a good time when we’re together. Definitely, I’ll always try to be in touch with them because thanks of them I’ve passed the best week of my life!

A good friend: Imma (by Verónica)

This is Imma. Really, I don’t remember the first time I met her because we were babies. We lived in the same flat and our parents were good friends so we grow up together.  We went to the same nursery and school. Our teenager’s time was the best time of my live. She always has been very impulsive and original planning things. Unfortunately, when the university’s time came we distance a bit ourselves.

Despite we have different lives and we are busy, we always tend to see each other.  She has always been my best friend. I admire her because she is incredibly calm, assertive and a self-confident person.  When something wrong is coming she keeps calm and is very optimistic. Also, she is funny and laughs a lot.

The only negative thing is that she is a bit quiet and reserved. However, she is good at giving people advices and she really has a heart of gold. We love going shopping because both of us have the same test in fashion and we are very vain.

We have been friends for twenty four years and I hope our friendship last forever.

A good friend: Montse (by Merce)

This is Montse. I met her in India 7 years ago . We had  booked the same  trip.
She was travelling with her husband as me.
When I met her I thought she was a bit haughty, but what wrong I was.!
Little by Little I was knowing her  and my opinión  changed.
She is cheerful, reliable, loyal and talkative. We can spend a lot of time talking each other. She is a bit vain and she likes changing clothes  as time as posible.
She works for a bank and now she is nervous because her work is falling down.
She likes  to help people and takes care with her parents.
She is one of the best person that I have met.

A good friend: Mayka (by Maria)

This is Mayka. I met her about two years ago while we both took part of a international trade course in Barcelona. She comes from Cádiz and as a good Andalousian she has a beautiful accent when she speaks Spanish. She is very ingenious as well when she speaks, that’s why we have a great time together. Mayka is very friendly and talkative, so we got on very soon. I admire her because of her generosity, she makes voluntary work. She began to do it in Cádiz and she looks for it here as well. And besides she is good at patchwork, she sews a lot of beautiful things. She is an artist.

A good friend: Annett (by Eva)

This is Annett. I met her in 1999 while she was doing an Erasmus in Barcelona and we ended up sharing a flat -  and having the year of our lives!
But we didn’t get on well straightaway. When I first met her, I thought she was a bit weird, unusual, maybe even tacky. How wrong I was! After a few weeks of having long breakfasts together (her lovely German breakfasts, mmmm....) and a few nights out, I saw that we got on like a house on fire! Apart from being an extremely bright and interesting person, she’s really optimistic, open-minded and attentive, cheerful, very thoughtful (she always remembers birthdays, sends Xmas presents, etc.), really sweet and funny (she has a kind of strange sense of humour). And she has a heart of gold!
However, she’s not perfect.  She’s very stubborn, and a bit reserved sometimes, which can make it difficult to know what she's thinking.
Still, I love her. We meet up at least once or twice a year. And if I can’t make it because I’m too busy, she always makes the effort to visit me in BCN instead. She’s a real star!
